BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: January 19, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Zan Fedorak SUBJECT: Request approval of the lease documents for cardiac/monitors defibrillators DEPARTMENT: Purchasing BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of the lease documents for the cardiac monitors/defibrillators from Southeastern Emergency Equipment. BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: On January 5, 2016 the Board approved the award of the bid for the cardiac/monitors defibrillators to Southeastern Emergency Equipment. Staff has been working with the vendor and their financing agencies to complete the necessary lease documents for the equipment. The lease will have 36 monthly payments of $8,504.97 for an annual commitment of $102,059.64. At the end of the 36 month period there is an option to purchase the cardiac/monitors defibrillators at fair market value. These cardiac/monitor defibrillators transmit cardiac information to medical facilities remotely from the ambulances during transport. This allows staff at the medical facilities to put the appropriate emergency staff into place prior to a cardiac patient’s arrival which expedites the care. OPTIONS: Approve/Deny documents for the lease of the cardiac/monitors defibrillators from Southeastern Emergency Equipment and authorize the Chairman to sign the documents. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the lease of the cardiac/monitors defibrillators from Southeastern Emergency Equipment and authorize the Chairman to sign the documents.
