BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: November 3, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Ed Schroeder SUBJECT: TDT Quarterly Update DEPARTMENT: Tourist Development Department BCC DISTRICT: 2,4,5 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Presentation of quarterly reports on tourism promotion and marketing campaigns as required by Ordinance 14-08. BACKGROUND: Financial and marketing updates are provided monthly to the Tourist Development Council (TDC). The financial update aggregates budget to actual information for the tourist development department overall, as well as by categories within each bed tax percentage (the “level of restriction”). A financial report as of September 15 has been presented. Due to the timing of strategic marketing plan expenditures, the financial report for the quarter ending September 30 will be presented to the Tourist Development Council at its December 10 meeting. The marketing and sales update for the quarter ending September 30 summarizes the activities of the convention & visitors bureau, convention center, and advertising agency. The Tourist Development Council has been apprised of these activities. OPTIONS: n/a RECOMMENDATION: For informational purposes only; no action required.
