STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval to award a bid to Floridian Construction and
Development Co., Inc. for the installation of a concrete paver walkway at the Destin-Fort Walton
Beach Airport for $24,920.00. (RFB AP 32-15) Dist: 2
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: The Airport Department requested a bid for the installation of
a concrete paver walkway at the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport. The submittals were due
April 29, 2015 and one (1) respondent submitted a bid. Airport staff has reviewed the bid and
determined that Floridian Construction and Development Co., Inc. was a responsive bidder at
$24,920.00. Staff requests approval to award the bid to Floridian Construction for the installation
of a concrete paver walkway at the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport for $24,920.00. This
project includes the installation of a contrasting concrete paver walkway to identify the walkway
to the dog park and the main entrance. Staff will bring the proposed contract, when completed,
to the Board for approval.
OPTIONS: Approve/Deny to award the bid to Floridian Construction and Development Co.,
Inc. for the installation of a concrete paver walkway at the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport for
$24,920.00.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval to award a bid to Floridian Construction
and Development Co., Inc. for the installation of a concrete paver walkway at the Destin-Fort
