STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval to award to Siemens Industry, Inc. for the
Security & Access Control System Inspection and Maintenance for the lump sum costs of
$21,496 (RFP AP 26-15). (District: 2)
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: The Airport Department requested proposals for the security
& access control system inspection and maintenance at the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport.
The submittals were due April 29, 2015 and three (3) respondents submitted proposals. The
Airport staff has reviewed the proposals and determined, along with the recommendation of the
consulting firm Avcon, Inc. that Siemens Industry, Inc. was the most qualified respondent with
the lowest lump sum cost of $21,496. Staff requests approval to award to Siemens Industry, Inc.
for the Security & Access Control System Inspection and Maintenance for the annual lump sum
cost of $21,496 at the Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport. The initial term of this proposed
contract shall be from completion of signatures by both parties and shall run for a period of one
(1) year from the date of signing. The contract may be renewed for two (2) additional one (1)
year periods. The proposed contract will be brought back before the Board for approval.
OPTIONS: Approve/Deny award to award to Siemens Industry, Inc. for the Security & Access
Control System Inspection and Maintenance for the annual lump sum cost of $21,496 (RFP AP
26-15).
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval to award to Siemens Industry, Inc. for the
Security & Access Control System Inspection and Maintenance for the annual lump sum costs of
$21,496.00 (RFP AP 26-15).
