BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
AGENDA REQUEST
DATE: April 5, 2016
TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board
FROM: Zan Fedorak
SUBJECT: Request approval to reject the bids for the long range CCTV pipe
inspection crawler
DEPARTMENT: Purchasing
BCC DISTRICT: All
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request Board approval to reject the bids for the long range CCTV
pipe inspection crawler.
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: Staff previously issued a request for bids for a long range
closed circuit television (CCTV) pipe inspection camera for the Public Works Department. Two
bids were received and the cameras were reviewed. It has been determined that the bids should
be rejected due to issues with the specifications. Staff will review the desired outcomes for the
camera by Public Works and other departments to determine the best procurement method to
meet all department needs. The Public Works camera will be used to investigate the condition of
existing Stormwater infrastructure. Other departments will be reviewed to determine their needs,
if any, before a new competitive solicitation process begins.
OPTIONS: Approve/Deny rejection of the bids for the long range CCTV pipe inspection
crawler to allow revisions of the specifications.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval to reject the bids for the long range CCTV
pipe inspection crawler to allow revisions of the specifications.
