STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval to utilize a bid from Palm Beach County for the
purchase of four (4) Stryker Stretchers.
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: Palm Beach County issued a request for bids (RFB) for
Stryker stretchers. The bid included language that states the successful bidder will extend the
pricing, terms and conditions of the RFB to the other governmental entities. Stryker Stretchers
has provided a quote based on the bid pricing for clarification. The total price for the four (4)
stretchers will be $62,918. Purchasing staff has researched the bid prices and found them to be
competitive. In addition, the purchase of the stretchers will include a trade-in of four (4)
stretchers which has been approved by the County Administrator. Staff requests approval to
utilize the bid from Palm Beach County to purchase four (4) Stryker stretchers and authorization
for the Chairman to sign the purchase agreement. In addition, staff requests approval to remove
the four (4) trade-in stretchers from the fixed asset ledger. When/if the Board approves the
purchase a requisition will be issued.
OPTIONS: (1) Approve/Deny the purchase of four (4) Stryker stretchers utilizing pricing from
the Palm Beach County bid for a total cost of $62,918 and authorize the Chairman to sign the
purchase agreement. (2) Approve/Deny the removal of the four (4) trade-in stretchers from the
fixed asset ledger.
RECOMMENDATION: (1) Staff recommends approval of the purchase of four (4) Stryker
stretchers utilizing pricing from the Palm Beach County bid for a total cost of $62,918 and
authorize the Chairman to sign the purchase agreement. (2) Staff recommends removal of the
four (4) trade-in stretchers from the fixed asset ledger.
