STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request Board approval of the final payment to Security 101 for
Access Control System Replacement in the amount of $114,170.91. (C15-2232-AP)
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: On November 10, 2014, Okaloosa County entered into an
agreement with Security 101 to replace the Access Control System at Destin-Fort Walton Beach
Airport. The final completion inspection was completed on April 20, 2015. All punch-list items
have been addressed to the satisfaction of the engineer of record and the County. The contract
included a request for a performance bond. This item was not addressed prior to issuing the
notice to proceed. The work has been satisfactorily completed by Security 101 and it is requested
that the Board waive the performance bond requirement and approve the final payment.
OPTIONS: Approve/Deny the request for final payment to Security 101 for the access control
system replacement in the amount of $114,170.91, and waive the performance bond requirement.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the request for final payment to
Security 101 for the access control system replacement in the amount of $114,170.91, and waive
the performance bond requirement.
