STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval for to remove 15 cardiac monitor/ defibrillators
from the fixed asset ledger.
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: On March 15, 2016 the Chairman was authorized to sign the
Delivery and Acceptance Certificate to finalize the lease for fifteen (15) new cardiac monitor
defibrillators for Public Safety. (This was the resulting purchase from bid PS 10-16.) The
bid/contract documents state that fifteen (15) existing cardiac monitors will be traded in on the
purchase of the new equipment. The new equipment has been installed in the ambulances and is
working properly. In accordance with policy, the authorization to trade-in the used cardiac
monitor/defibrillators has been received from the County Administrator. Staff requests Board
approval to remove the fifteen (15) used cardiac monitor/defibrillators from the fixed asset ledger
for the trade-in on the new equipment.
OPTIONS: Approve/Deny authorization to remove fifteen (15) used cardiac monitor
defibrillators from the fixed asset list for trade-in on the purchase of the new equipment.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends to remove fifteen (15) used cardiac monitor
defibrillators from the fixed asset list for trade-in on the purchase of the new equipment.
