BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: April 19, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Zan Fedorak SUBJECT: Request approval to remove items from the fixed asset ledger DEPARTMENT: Purchasing BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request a gas monitor and Information Technology equipment be removed from the fixed asset ledger. BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: Purchasing staff has been made aware of items that need to be removed from the fixed asset ledger. The Information Technology (IT) Department has requested that four (4) IT assets be transferred to the Sheriff’s Department. These items are no longer being used by County staff and are needed for the Sheriff Department’s information technology infrastructure. The County Administrator has approved the transfer. The fixed asset numbers are: 17734 Rack, 17735 Uninterrupted Power Source (UPS), 17949 Rack, and 17950 UPS. Purchasing has also verified that a hand held gas monitoring device has been properly documented for removal from the fixed asset list. (Fixed asset number 19427) The device was accidentally dropped by staff during a project and was unrecoverable. OPTIONS: (1) Approve/Deny removal of fixed asset numbers: 17734 Rack, 17735 Uninterrupted Power Source (UPS), 17949 Rack, and 17950 UPS, from the fixed asset ledger. (2) Approve/Deny removal of a hand held gas monitoring device, fixed asset number 19427, from the fixed asset ledger. RECOMMENDATION: (1) Staff recommends approval of the removal of fixed asset numbers: 17734 Rack, 17735 Uninterrupted Power Source (UPS), 17949 Rack, and 17950 UPS, from the fixed asset ledger. (2) Staff recommends approval of the removal of a hand held gas monitoring device, fixed asset number 19427, from the fixed asset ledger.
