STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request Board approval to publish a Request for Proposals (RFP) for
Airport terminal advertising.
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: The Okaloosa County Purchasing Department is seeking
authorization to advertise a RFP for a vendor to provide Airport Terminal Advertising at the Destin
- Fort Walton Beach Airport. Staff requests approval of the Selection Committee that will review
the proposals: Stephanie Herrick, Airports Financial Manager; Kathy Newby, Public Information
Officer; Sherry Rushing, Travel Industry Sales Manager (TDD). The award recommendation and
proposed contract will be brought before the Board for approval. A draft scope of work is attached.
The advertising agency services will include, but are not limited to: solicit local businesses to sell
advertising in the Airport terminal, create and produce static advertising as well as highly technical
video/motion displays, install and maintain appropriate signs in assigned areas.
OPTIONS: Approve/Deny authorization for staff to advertise a RFP to obtain a vendor for Airport
terminal advertising and approval of the selection committee.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval to advertise a RFP to obtain a vendor for
Airport terminal advertising and approval of the selection committee.
