STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request Board approval to purchase coordinated transportation
mini-buses from the State Contract #TRIPS-15-MB-NB for a total cost of $246,670.
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: Okaloosa County has a contract with Maruti Fleet and
Management, LLC to provide the coordinated transportation services for the County. This
service is provided with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funding. This funding may be
utilized to purchase new buses to enhance the service. Staff has requested that four (4) new
mini-buses be purchased as recommended by Maruti. Purchasing staff has assisted with the
research of the State Contract for the purchase. The purchase will be split into two (2) different
specifications: a Ford Transit X2C 20' VG and a Ford Transit U4X 10 22' V6. The cost of the
purchase will be $127,368 and $119,302 respectively. Purchasing will issue requisitions when/if
the Board approves the purchase. (Picture attached. Color will be white.)
OPTIONS: Approve/Deny the purchase of four (4) mini-buses from the State Contract #TRIPS-
15-MB-NB for a total cost of $246,670 to support the coordinated transportation services.
