BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: August 16, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Zan Fedorak SUBJECT: Request approval to award the bids for ready mix concrete DEPARTMENT: Purchasing BCC DISTRICT: ALL STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval to award the bids for ready mix concrete to Preferred Materials, Inc., and Fort Walton Concrete/Crestview Ready Mix. (RFB PW 59-16) BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: On July 27, 2016 bids were due for vendors to provide ready mix concrete materials and two (2) bids were received. Staff has reviewed the bids and found both to be fully responsive. Staff desires to award to both bidders to ensure availability of concrete when it is requested. Staff will create the contracts and bring them before the Board for approval. OPTIONS: Approve/Deny award of the bids to Preferred Materials, Inc., and Fort Walton Concrete/Crestview Ready Mix to provide ready mix concrete. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the bids to Preferred Materials, Inc., and Fort Walton Concrete/Crestview Ready Mix to provide ready mix concrete. RECOMMENDED BY: APPROVED BY: John Hofstad, County Administrator
