BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: August 16, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Jason Autrey SUBJECT: CEFCO Fenwick Roadway Improvements DEPARTMENT: Public Works BCC DISTRICT: 4 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Fikes Wholesale, Inc. requests acceptance of roadway improvements (westbound right turn lane) on Fenwick Avenue at the intersection with Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard to allow the improvements to enter into the 18-month warranty period as required before permanent acceptance into the County maintenance system. BACKGROUND: Plans for CEFCO Convenience Store project, located at Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. & Fenwick Avenue, were approved for construction on December 7, 2015. The plans include construction of a westbound right turn lane on Fenwick Avenue at the intersection with Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. The roadway improvements have been constructed, inspected, and found to be in substantial conformance with the approved plans. OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove the developer's request. RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve the work performed on Fenwick Avenue to enter into the 18-month warranty period, and accept Maintenance Bond No. 9152412 issued by Federated Mutual Insurance Company on June 27, 2016 in the amount of twelve thousand eight hundred and thirty-five dollars and fifty cents ($12,835.50) as the guarantee for the work performed.
