Items 1 and 26 which are the radio transmitting and receiving equipment are the items on state contract.
The others items are the hardware and supporting items to put the Midland transceiver in operation as well has
to connect back to the main system control located at the FDOT tower next to the old FHP location in Crestview.
Because of the connectivity between the other sites, it needs to be the same.
In answer to the question of if we were the original installer, the answer is yes. We engineered and installed the system
to the requirements of the public safety needs, meeting the Florida EMS/LOE Communication Plan and specifications.
We are the only Governmental Warranty shop for Midland products in the North Florida area.
After the narrow band mandate by the Federal Communication Commission, all these sites were updated with the
Midland P-25 Federal approved Digital standards. Sites were upgraded in a manner to begin a phased in multiple site
configuration to couture coverage and signal levels, improving portable coverage in the area.
I hope this will help.

Good Morning Mr. Baker,
Thanks so much for your quick reply. Please clarify for me if all the prices you have listed on your quote
are from the Florida State Contract? Also, did you install the radios that you are updating? | need a
basis for a sole source if there is one.
Thanks
Zan

Good morning Ms Fedorak,
In answer to your inquiry about the lower price than what is shown on the State of Florida Radio
equipment contract, here are the reasons.
The State of Florida makes up an RFP on what they perceive is a whole and complete working unit.
However, agencies rarely uses ever options that is included in the mandatory equipment list that has to
be priced as a whole unit.
In this case what is priced ($11,111.04) on the contract from Midland is:
1 VHF 110W Base Tech lll P25 Repeater, 146-174 MHz.
110W Transceiver,
Option Housing (indoor cabinet with pull out tray)
Power Supply and Battery Backup,
Antenna Relay,
16 Channel Tone Remote,
E & M / Microwave Interface,
Two Tone for Base Tech llI,
Transceiver Support Shelf Kit,
OCOoO~NOOUV A WwN
10 Palm Microphone,
11 DC Power Cable,
12 Assemble,
13 Program,
14 Test
Okaloosa’s radio system only needs items 1,6,10. The rest of the items are in a different custom
configuration for the system that this will integrate into.
Removing these items saves the county $2,711.04 off the total items that the state placed on their RFP,
making the equipment cost $8,400.
Please note that this is just an addition to a system that is already in service and operating. Compatibility
is needed to be maintained to operate per engineered designed.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call me.
