STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval to issue a Request for Proposals to obtain real
estate brokerage services to assist with leasing and marketing County property.
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: Staff has expressed a desire to obtain real estate brokerage
services to evaluate County owned property and facilities for best use and make
recommendations to the County. The County wishes to explore selling and/or acting as Lessor of
real property owned by the County, based on the outcome of the aforementioned evaluation. It is
the intent of this RFP to have the successful broker(s)/firm(s) enter into contract with the County
to supply real estate services.
Duties will include management of existing leased properties as well as assisting with marketing
any vacant property the County desires to sell.
Staff requests Board approval to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) to obtain real estate
brokerage services. A Review Committee will assist with the selection. The suggested
committee is: Dave Miner, Airports Properties & Leases Specialist, Jerry Menze, W&S
Financial Manager, and Zan Fedorak, Public Works Property & Finance Manager. Staff requests
authorization to issue the RFP and the approval of the Review Committee.
OPTIONS: (1) Approve/Deny issuance of the RFP to obtain real estate brokerage services to
assist with leasing and marketing County property. (2) Approve/Deny the members of the
Review Committee.
RECOMMENDATION: (1) Staff recommends approval of the issuance of the RFP to obtain
real estate brokerage services to assist with leasing and marketing County property. (2) Staff
recommends approval of the members of the Review Committee.
