BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: September 15, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Rick Owen SUBJECT: Public Workshop on RESTORE Act Projects DEPARTMENT: County Administrator BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Staff requests Board discussion and direction to set a public workshop on October 13, 2015 at 1 p.m. for the purpose of reviewing the list of projects submitted to and approved by the Okaloosa RESTORE Advisory Committee (ORAC). BACKGROUND: In June and July, 2015, the ORAC received project presentations for funding under the direct component of the RESTORE Act. On July 15, 2015, the ORAC finalized the list. The ORAC-approved list will be presented to the Board at a workshop for review and consideration for submission to the U.S. Department of Treasury as the Okaloosa County Multi- year Implementation Plan. OPTIONS: The Board may set the public workshop on the recommended date, not set the workshop, or provide other direction to staff as it deems appropriate. RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners set a public workshop on October 13, 2015 at 1 p.m. to review the list of projects submitted to and approved by the Okaloosa RESTORE Advisory Committee (ORAC).
