SUBJECT: Funding Request for Temporary Offices for GAL Shalimar
DEPARTMENT: Facility Maintenance

STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval funding in the amount of $10,000 to provide offices
for the Guardian ad Litem in Shalimar.
BACKGROUND: A major project is being planned at the site of the former Shalimar
Courthouse Annex which will require all current occupants of that campus to be relocated off
site while the construction occurs.
The former EMS Supply building at the old FWB hospital is available. With modest
modifications, the space can be made ready to provide operational space for the GAL until the
new facility is move-in ready.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Request approval funding in the amount of $10,000 to provide offices
for the Guardian ad Litem in Shalimar with funding transferred from the 301-3160 Capital
Projects Reserve fund to 301-3120 GAL Temp Space account.
