BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: October 20, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Jason Autrey SUBJECT: Reimbursement of Expenditures for Derelict Vessel Removal to the City of Destin DEPARTMENT: Public Works BCC DISTRICT: District 5 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval to reimburse the City of Destin $1,917.49 utilizing Florida Boating Improvement Funds for expenses incurred during the removal of a derelict vessel in Joe’s Bayou. BACKGROUND: In May of this year the City of Destin’s Public Service Department removed the following derelict vessel from Joe’s Bayou; 34 ft. white Trojan houseboat; Registration # FL- 9918MJ. The City performed all the work in house utilizing City staff and equipment. Parks staff has received invoice #PS1012 for $1,917.49 and the proper paper work and pictures documenting the removal of the vessel which is required by the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission for reimbursement through the Florida Boating Fund program. Funds are available in the County managed Florida Boating Improvement Fund for these purposes. OPTIONS: Approve/disapprove reimbursing the City of Destin $1,917.49 for expenses incurred during the removal of the derelict vessel, Florida registration # FL-9918MJ, from Joe’s Bayou. RECOMMENDATIONS: Request Board approval to reimburse the City of Destin $1,917.49 for expenses incurred for the removal of the derelict vessel, Florida registration # FL-9918MJ, from Joe’s Bayou.
