STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Extend the facility lease for a portion of the old Okaloosa Island
Fire Station located at 105 Santa Rosa Blvd., Ft. Walton Beach with Emerald Coast Wildlife
Refuge, Inc. for one additional year.
BACKGROUND: On July 1st, 2014 the Board entered a lease with the Emerald Coast Wildlife
Refuge, Inc. (ECWR) for a portion of the facility located at 105 Santa Rosa Blvd., Ft. Walton
Beach, known as the old Okaloosa Island Fire Station building. The term of the lease was for one
(1) year with two (2) one (1) year extensions. EWCR’s fee for the lease is $1.00 per year.
ECWR has requested the lease be extended for a one (1) year extension.
OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove approval to extend the facility lease for a portion of the old
Okaloosa Island Fire Station facility located at 105 Santa Rosa Blvd., Ft. Walton Beach with
Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge, Inc. for a one year extension.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Request Board approval to extend the facility lease for a portion of
the old Okaloosa Island Fire Station facility located at 105 Santa Rosa Blvd., Ft. Walton Beach
with Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge, Inc. for a one year extension.
