BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: November 3, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Elliot Kampert SUBJECT: Set a public hearing to amend Bluewater Bay Development Order DEPARTMENT: Growth Management BCC DISTRICT: 5 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Set a public hearing for December 15, 2015 to consider adoption of a resolution amending the Bluewater Bay Development of Regional Impact (DRI) Development Order to re-designate a portion of the Magnolia Golf Course to allow development of single family homes. BACKGROUND: The County has received an application submitted by Jesse W. Rigby, Esq. on behalf of Randy Wise Homes, Inc. as authorized by Bluewater Bay Resort, LLC to change the approved Bluewater Bay DRI Development Order to convert 10.28+ acres of land designated as "Golf" (G) on the approved development master plan to a combination of residential use ("M/L", approximately 7 acres) and Open Space (the remainder). OPTIONS: The Board may set the requested public hearing or decline to do so. RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners set and authorize advertising for a public hearing to be held at 6:30 PM or soon thereafter in the Board of County Commissioners meeting room in the Okaloosa County Administration Building located at 1250 Eglin Parkway N in Shalimar to consider adoption of a resolution amending 10.28+ acres of land designated as "Golf" (G) on the approved Bluewater Bay Development of Regional Impact Development Order master plan to a combination of residential use ("M/L") and Open Space. .
