BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: August 4, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Jason Autrey SUBJECT: CEFCO Convenience Store Roadway Improvements DEPARTMENT: Public Works BCC DISTRICT: 1 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Acceptance of roadway improvements (westbound right turn lane) on Stillwell Boulevard at the intersection with SR 85, with a deed for additional right-of-way, to enter into the 18-month warranty period as required before permanent acceptance into the County maintenance system. BACKGROUND: Plans for CEFCO Convenience Store project were approved for construction on December 1, 2014. The plans include construction of a westbound right turn lane on Stillwell Boulevard (including required utility relocations and traffic signal loops/accessories adjustment) at the intersection with SR 85. The roadway improvements have been constructed, inspected, and found to be in substantial conformance with the approved plans. An executed and original copy of the warranty deed for the additional right-of-way needed for the westbound right turn lane on Stillwell Boulevard has been provided by the developer (Fikes Wholesale, Inc.). A partial release of lien from the lien holder to grant the additional right-of- way without any liens against the said property has also been obtained and provided by Fikes Wholesale, Inc. OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove the Developer's Request. RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends Board accept and record the deed for additional right-of-way and partial release of lien, and approve the work performed on Stillwell Boulevard (including Maintenance Bond No. 9006892 Issued by Federated Mutual Insurance Company in the amount of Three Thousand Eight Hundred Thirty Eight and 80/100 Dollars - $3,838.80) to enter into the 18-month warranty period.
