BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: February 2, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Alvin Henderson SUBJECT: Reallocate Funding of Beach Safety Equipment in FY16 Budget DEPARTMENT: Public Safety BCC DISTRICT: 2 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request Board approval to reallocate funding in the FY16 Beach Safety budget from 1 ATV and 1 rescue jet ski to 3 ATVs. BACKGROUND: The Board of County Commissioners approved the Beach Safety Division budget and CIP for FY16, which included the purchase of 1 ATV and 1 rescue jet ski for a total estimated cost of $19,800.00. The rescue jet ski was repaired and replacement was no longer needed. The Beach Safety Division lost 3 ATVs this year that are essential to providing coverage for critical response. The cost of the 3 ATVs is $17,241.00, so the equipment change doesn't increase the budget. OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove. RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve the change to the FY16 Beach Safety budget and CIP to allow for the purchase of 3 ATVs. RECOMMENDED BY: APPROVED BY: John Hofstad, County Administrator
