Replacement Projects performed, as expected, with the
highest levels of professionalism, safety consciousness and fiscal awareness.
The Choctawhatchee High School Project was initially a seven-phase project that was scheduled to
take 193 calendar days and require up to twenty portables to house displaced students during Phase 4
of the project. Through extensive pre-planning on your part and by performing future phase work
out of sequence, the total number of calendar days was reduced by 56 days - thus eliminating the
need to relocate students to portables. This saved the District approximately $300,000 and, more
importantly, provided a more secure and safe learning environment for the students and teachers.
The success of this project was further enhanced when you and your team were able to replace the
existing 200 ton chiller with a new 400 ton chiller. This swap provided redundancy and sequencing
capability that did not exist prior to the start of the project. When you relocated the existing 200 ton
chiller to Bluewater Elementary over the 19 days of Winter Break, it did not delay the progress of
your work or interrupt the school operations at either location. Finally, and as a testament to your
dedication and support of us and our client, you were able to increase your scope of work and handle
the installation of two (2) large Air Handling Units during the last two (2) weeks of the summer
construction period, Your commitment to get the job done and the quality of work provided is to be
commended.
Phase 1 of the Longwood HVAC Replacement Project was accomplished in 43 calendar days over
this past summer. It involved the complete replacement of the mechanical systems that served
approximately 36,000 SF (almost two thirds of the school) and included a new cooling tower, new 6”
chilled water piping and new individual classroom units. The planning, punctuality and quality of
finished work exemplifies the conscientious approach exhibited by the entire Lord & Son team. We
are confident that Phase 2 of this project will be just as successful.

Wittiams,
Lord & Son performed General Contracting services (Prime Contractor) for this new 5,000 SF retail space. This
pre-engineered metal building was completed with EIFS exterior finishes and interior finishes with sheetrock
walls and acoustical ceilings. The project was finalized with a parking lot and landscaping on the lot.
When Lord & Son was awarded this contract in late October 2013, it had to be completed in four months to
meet the deadline of March 1, 2014. In addition to the project already being fast-tracked, there was a two
week delay in receiving the metal building followed by another two weeks of bad weather. Through careful
coordination and discussions with subcontractors, not only was the project completed on time, it was
completed three days ahead of schedule.
