BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: January 20, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Elliot Kampert SUBJECT: Annual Payment for Support/Maintenance of Permit Tracking Software DEPARTMENT: Growth Management BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The annual payment for support of the software that tracks and issues building permits is due. BACKGROUND: In May 1999, the County entered into a contract with Eden Services (name changed to Tyler Tech in December 2007) to provide permit tracking software. The County pays an annual fee to provide support and maintenance of the software as well as technical assistance. As provided in Section 9.2 of the Contract, the Contractor may not increase the support services charge more than 10% over the year prior. The 2014 support charge was $16,861.21. The amount requested for 2015, $17,410, is only a 3.25% increase. Though the Contract does not have an expiration date, the 2014 maintenance payment covered the period from 1/1/2014 through 12/31/2014. Therefore, the payment for which this agenda item seeks approval will cover the period from 1/1/2015 until 12/31/2015. There has been no interruption in support service. OPTIONS: Approve or deny the requested payment. RECOMMENDATIONS: In order to maintain the permit tracking system, staff recommends approval of the requested $17,410 as stated in the Contract/Lease Renewal Form for a service period retroactive to January 1, 2015 until December 31, 2015.
