Item 1:
Viable Solutions, Inc. Platinum GroupWise Support Term 4/1/14 – 9/30/2014
$3997.50 Quote # VSI 02041401 to be divided equally among the four counties in our circuit
(Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton)
Cost $999.38
Description
-Consolidate GroupWise Post Offices to single Post Office hosted in Main Office Location.
-Migrate GroupWise System to new core server in our main office as a virtual Linux machine.
-Upgrade to GroupWise version 12.
-Install GroupWise Mobility Service on a virtual Linux machine to enable synchronization with mobile
smart phones.
-Install GroupWise WebAccess on a virtual Linux machine for better compatibility with newer web
browsers and enhanced interface.
-Install virtual Linux Machine as an eDirectory server. eDirectory is Required to run GroupWise and it’s
best practice to run it on a server separate from the GroupWise installation.
Justification
This item was not included in our 2013-2014 budget request because of an indefinite project timeline. It
has become an increasingly important project that we would like to move forward on. General Vendor
support for our GroupWise e-mail system ends in June, 2014 with extended support ending in
December, 2014. In addition, the physical server that GroupWise in installed on is no longer under
warranty. We would prefer to complete this project prior to the 2014-2015 budget year.
Item 2:
Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Remote Desktop Services - Licenses
Quote # 7695806
Cost $1,326.60
Description
Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Remote Desktop Services (RDS) Licenses for all employees working in
remote offices. RDS is needed to give employees working in remote offices and offsite the ability to
connect to applications hosted in the main office such as the STAC database, Image server, File server,
and GroupWise e-mail server in a more efficient manner.
We have an out of warranty server currently running in Milton that is to be consolidated to the newer
servers running in the Main Office. RDS will provide the remote users with a much faster response time
when connected back to the main office servers.
Justification
This item was not included in our 2013-2014 budget request because of an indefinite project timeline.
Iit has become an increasingly important project that we would like to move forward on and we would
prefer to complete this project prior to the 2014-2015 budget year.

Description
The general support hours will be used for several server support related tasks including:
-Rebuilding a virtual machine file server that is not performing correctly.
-Group policy design, implementation, and testing to facilitate our migration onto a Microsoft Windows
network away from a soon to be unsupported Novell Netware network.
- Server event log analysis and corrective measures for error events to ensure a healthy system

However it has recently become needed and we would prefer to complete this project prior to the 2014-
2015 budget year.
Item 4:
Dell Extended Warranty service for production servers
$9875.47 Quote # 1016337710631 to be divided equally among the four counties in our circuit
(Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton)
Cost $2468.87
Description
Warranty service on our three core production servers will expire on 7/15/2014. This quote is to extend
the warranty service out to 7/15/2018 which is considered end of life on these servers.
Justification
This item was not included in our 2013-2014 budget request because the servers were originally
purchased with state funds. We are requesting these funds to prevent a lapse in warranty coverage.
