STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Chris Cadenhead of Pier Associates has executed an Amended and
Restated Lease for the Okaloosa Island Pier and Restaurant. Staff seeks acceptance of the
Amended and Restated Lease by the Board of County Commissioners.
BACKGROUND: In an effort to provide clarity to certain aspects of the existing lease between
Pier Associates and Okaloosa County, the County attorney has worked with the leaseholder on
an Amended and Restated Lease for the Okaloosa Island Pier and Restaurant. Items clarified
within the revised document include, but are not limited to, a clarification of the term of the
lease, identification of the annual lease fee due and the schedule for payment (monthly), and
specifying fees owed by the Lessee to the Lessor for Submerged Land Lease supplemental fees.
Mr. Chris Cadenhead has executed the Amended and Restated Lease and requests consideration
by the Board of County Commissioners for the same.
OPTIONS: Authorize/deny the Chairman to execute the Amended and Restated Lease with Pier
Associates, Inc. for the Okaloosa Island Pier and Restaurant.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Authorize the Chairman to execute the Amended and Restated Lease
with Pier Associates, Inc. for the Okaloosa Island Pier and Restaurant.
