Mr, Bill Cox, Crestview, asked for the status on the PJ Adams
Parkway widening project. He said he is on the citizens‘
advisory board for the OWTFO. Mr, Cox stated all the
information "out there’ for the public shows the project is
behind schedule. He referred to the amount of grant funds the
county has received and said the FY 2015 budget shows “0%” on
the project.
My. Autrey replied the county has received a $2.2 Million grant
with a 50/50 match, saying that was in the budget last year, He
explained that instead of carrying over the funds, they were
left in the project account, Mr, Autrey said at the next
meeting he will return with a scope of services for a consultant
to design the project, He noted the largest part of the funds
is for right-of-way acquisition.
Mr. Harris commented that parts of this road are in very poor
condition and require more than a band-aide. Mr. Autrey said
there will be minor resurfacing, adding they do not want to
throw good money after bad.
Mr. Cox said he understands there is $150,000 for an emergency
overlay for Pd Adams Parkway and a like amount will be placed in
the FY 2015 budget. Mr. Hofetad responded the south leg of the
road is falling apart and the county has a responsibility to
maintain safe access. Mr. Cox asked that the public be provided
with better information on the project.
