world is coming to.
PUBLIC COMMENTS RELATING TO THE CURRENT AGENDA
None.
NEW BUSINESS - PROPOSED LEASED SPACE ALLOCATION PLAN IN OLD FORT
WALTON BEACH HOSPITAL FOR OPPORTUNITY INC. AND ELDER SERVICES
The county entered into a lease with Elder Services in March
2012 for approximately 6,800 square feet. Mr. Hofstad explained
that in November 2012 the Board approved funding to renovate
another section of the old Fort Walton Beach Hospital and
relocate Elder Services to the renovated space. However, Elder
Services has requested to remain in their current location.
The Executive Director of Opportunity, Inc. has requested use of
the space previously planned for Elder Services for its
administrative offices. Mr. Hofstad reported the building can
accommodate both operations.
Mr. Parisot made motion, seconded by Mr. Amunds, to direct the
County Attorney to prepare a lease with Opportunity, Inc. for
the subject office space for a ten-year period at a lease rate

about the agenda and suggested the time of the meeting be
changed to 6:00 p.m. Mr. Parisot made motion, seconded by Mr.

Amendment #007 (contract renewal) to Contract #AH105 with
Big Bend Community Base Care, Inc.
Mr. Parisot stated the requests for ratification are happening
too often. He questioned why people are not getting their
documents on the agenda in time. Mr. Parisot felt approval of
the documents should be by the entire Board and not one
individual commissioner. He pointed out this agenda request is
not only to ratify the Chairman’s signature on this amendment
but to authorize him to execute all future grant documents
during the term of the grant. Mr. Parisot felt these future
grant documents should be brought back to the Board for
approval.
