STATEMENT OF ISSUE: As part of the Capital Improvement Program for FY15,
Construction Engineering & Inspection Services (CEI) are needed for the Martin Luther King Jr.
Blvd. / Green Acres Road resurfacing project. Staff is requesting approval of the proposed Task
Work Order from HDR Engineering, Inc. to perform these services.
BACKGROUND: Programmed as part of the FY13-FY15 Capital Improvement Program,
design for the Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. / Green Acres Rd. resurfacing project has been
completed and the project has recently been advertised for construction. Overall improvements
will include the reconstruction of the roadway surface/structure and reconstruction of the failed
drainage system along Green Acres Rd. between Beal Parkway and Beverly Street. The most
recent estimate to rehabilitate both roadways is approximately $2.2 million and funding is
available.
Staff has negotiated the attached scope and fee with HDR Engineering, Inc. for CEI services
under continuing services contract C14-2078-PW. HDR is proposing to perform the requested
Construction Engineering & Inspection services for the Not to Exceed (NTE) fee of $138,367.19.
OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove proposed Task Order 6 under contract C14-2078-PW for the
Not to Exceed (NTE) fee of $138,367.19.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve proposed Task Order 6 under contract C14-2078-PW for
the Not to Exceed (NTE) fee of $138,367.19.
