RE: Request for Right-of-way Vacation
Scallop Court — Okaloosa Island
Dear Commissioner Ketchel,
This letter has been written to request the vacation of a portion of the right-of-way located along
Scallop Court on Okaloosa Island. This road Is terminates at a cul-de-sac that historically served
as the entrance to the Coquina Isle Condominium. If single family homes were built as originally
platted, the cul-de-sac and right-of-way would have purpose. However, over time, the
development landscape of Okaloosa Island changed and higher density projects were
constructed, leaving no purpose for these cul-de-sacs. I have attached aerial photographs
showing the original configuration of the right-of-way and the condominium.
The old Coquina Isle condominium and infrastructure has been demolished and removed. A new
condominium project is currently being planned for this property. Vacation of the right-of-way
will allow for improved property geometry and access to the Coquina Isle property, which will
result in an enhanced project site plan.
Thank you for your time and consideration of this request. If you have any questions regarding
this letter and request, please call me at 850-259-1522,
Sincerely,
O
