BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
AGENDA REQUEST
DATE: December 1, 2015
TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board
FROM: Jason Autrey
SUBJECT: Request to transfer funds to Foxwood Phase III Improvements Project.
DEPARTMENT: Public Works
BCC DISTRICT: 3
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Foxwood Subdivision Drainage Improvement project has been
a three phase project that is now in the final phase of construction. Phase III includes replacing
the roadway drainage system along Golf Course Drive and Eagle Drive in the Foxwood
Subdivision.
BACKGROUND: The original estimate for work on all three phases of the Foxwood Storm-
water drainage rehabilitation project was done in 2012 with each of the three phases estimated at
$250,000. Bids for the final phase of the project were received with the low bidder coming in at
$291,319.60. The overages are a result of cost increases over the time from the initial estimate
and a modest correction in scope due to lessons learned from the prior two phases. Staff
recommends a transfer of funds in the amount of $50,000 from the pipe lining account to offset
the deficient budget while still utilizing the funding for storm-water use.
OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove
RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends the approval of the transfer of funds from 3202-
546648 (pipe lining) to 3202-563242 (Foxwood Ph 3).
