Operators report that there is a buildup of scum in the influent channels downstream of the influent screens and upstream of the grit handling equipment. OCWS is requesting alternative solutions to eliminate or reduce the buildup of scum in this section of the influent channels.” Questions and Answers 1. Q: Section 2.2.1.1, Bullet 4 - i. 1.5 lb O2/lb BOD5 would be used for an extended aeration system at SRTs well beyond 8 days. There is published literature relating SRT to this ratio. Could these be used instead? A: In response to the question regarding the application of an alternative oxygen demand based on BOD5, REFER to Page 2-3, the fourth bullet that begins with “Oxygen ADDENDUM NO. 3 Project No. 100557 Revised: 5/26/2015 2  ARBENNIE PRITCHETT WRF EXPANSION DESIGN-BUILD PROJECT Requirements – Either…”. The determination of alternative oxygen requirements shall comply with this requirement of the Design Criteria Package. 2. Q; 2.13.1 2 Our Professional Liability is with a carrier not licensed (but authorized) to do business in Florida. Is this acceptable. A: An authorized “Surplus Lines” carrier will be acceptable. 3. Q: 2.13.1.7 The only way to provide insurance as required in section 2.13.1.7 is to provide a “Project Specific” Insurance policy. Is this what you want? A: The D/B Contractor (Prime Contractor) shall name the County as an additional insured and reference the Project. The Prime Contractor’s policy should automatically include coverage for sub-contractors unless they are specifically excluded in the policy. In addition, the Prime Contractor should have their subcontractor name both the County and the Prime Contractor as an additional insured for the Project. 4. Q: 2.13.1.8 Certified copies of policies are generally no longer provided. An “uncertified” copy of the policy could be provided at your discretion, will this be acceptable. A: A notarized copy will be an acceptable. 5. Q: 2.13.3.2 Contractual Liability and Broad Form Property Damage (BFPD) are not specific coverages that are specified in any policy. Please specifically define what you require. BFPD was eliminated in 1986 and largely incorporated in to standard policies please specify exactly what you want. A: DELETE “Broad Form Property Damage (BFPD)”. 6. Q: 2.13.3.4 “Independent Respondent’s Liability” is not generally provided – if you require this insurance a “project specific “policy will have to be provided. Is this what you want? A: DELETE “Independent Respondent’s Liability”. All Document Holders shall acknowledge receipt and acceptance of Addendum No. 1 in the Proposal or by submitting the executed Addendum to Constantine Engineering prior to Proposal Submittal.
