BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: June 16, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Sunil Harman SUBJECT: Champion Contractors and Cuts By Angela Lease Termination DEPARTMENT: Airport BCC DISTRICT: 2 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Department of Airports requests approval by the Board of County Commissioners for a lease termination with Champion Contractors, Inc. and Cuts By Angela at the Destin - Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS) for Barbering/Massage and Nail Concession. BACKGROUND: On March 21, 2014, the Board approved the Lease for Champion Contractors, Inc. and Cuts By Angela for Barbering/Massage and Nail Concession in the Airport Terminal. Lessee sent a letter requesting to terminate their Lease and have all equipment removed from the Terminal by May 18,2015. Their Lease states, "...Either Party may, without cause, cancel this Agreement by giving not less that sixty (60) days written notice to the other party...". The official Lease termination date will be June 28, 2015. OPTIONS: Approve, Reject or Table. RECOMMENDATIONS: It is Staff's recommendation that the Board approve the Lease termination of Champion Contractors, Inc. and Cuts By Angela as stated above. RECOMMENDED BY: APPROVED BY: John Hofstad, County Administrator
