RESOLUTION 2016-_____ RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF OKALOOSA COUNTY TO APPROVE A TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE PURSUANT TO COMPLETION OF RESURFACING, REHABILITATION AND RESTORATION PROJECT. WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation (“DEPARTMENT”) proposes to undertake and complete a Resurfacing, Rehabilitation and Restoration project in Fiscal Year 2018 in Okaloosa County, Florida, and WHEREAS, this Resurfacing, Rehabilitation and Restoration project includes: FPID Number 436258-1-52-01, State Road (S.R.) 189 (Beal Parkway) from Manring Drive to S.R. 188 (Racetrack Road) (the “PROJECT”), and WHEREAS, Okaloosa County supports the DEPARTMENT’S efforts in these regards, and WHEREAS, it is necessary that Clifford Street, owned and maintained by Okaloosa County, be temporarily closed for an approximate duration of 20 days and there will be a detour available at Lewis Street and Tow Bridge Avenue to successfully complete the PROJECT, and WHEREAS, said road closure will reduce construction time and costs, minimize right of way purchase and/or construction easements, and/or minimize wetland impacts, and WHEREAS, said road closure will be performed in accordance with the Construction Plans dated September 22, 2016, including any revisions thereof as exist on file with the DEPARTMENT for this PROJECT (the “PLANS”), which are herein incorporated by reference. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF OKALOOSA COUNTY, FLORIDA that: 1. The Board of County Commissioners does hereby authorize the DEPARTMENT to temporarily close Clifford Street in accordance with the PLANS. 2. The Board of County Commissioners does hereby agree that Okaloosa County will continue to maintain County owned detour roads during construction of the PROJECT. 3. A certified copy of this resolution shall be forwarded to the Florida Department of Transportation at 1074 Highway 90, Chipley, Florida 32428. 4. This resolution shall be effective upon passage.
