BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: January 3, 2017 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Elliot Kampert SUBJECT: Requests permission to submit the FYE16 FTA 5307 Urbanized Area Grant DEPARTMENT: Growth Management BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Department of Growth Management requests that the Board authorize the submission of the FYE16 Federal Transit Administration (FTA) 5307 Preliminary Grant Application electronically in FTA's TrAMS (Transportation Awards Management System) BACKGROUND: The Board of County Commissioners held a Public Hearing on the Grant's proposed Program of Projects (POP) on August 02, 2016. The POP listed the proposed Capital projects and Operating funds for the FYE16 5307 Grant. Growth Management did not receive any comments from the public or other stakeholders on the POP during the public comment period which ended September 16, 2016, at which time the published POP became final. The required local match will be provided through a combination of state grants, local funds, and program income for operating funds and toll-revenue credit for capital project funds. OPTIONS: Approve or deny permission to submit the FYE16 FTA 5307 Preliminary Grant Application for Public Transit Funds. RECOMMENDATIONS: The Department recommends that the Board approve the submission of the FYE16 FTA 5307 Preliminary Grant application in TrAMS and, upon review and approval from FTA, 1) authorize the Chairman to sign the Final grant application, grant award (if made), and all future grant documents during the term of the grant, and 2) allow the Office of Contracts and Grants to electronically submit, on behalf of the Chairman, the Final application, grant award (if made), and all future grant documents during the term of the grant.
