BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: April 5, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Zan Fedorak SUBJECT: Request approval of a RFQ for State Lobbyist Services DEPARTMENT: Purchasing BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for State lobbyist services and the selection committee be appointed. (RFQ 43-16 CAO) BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: Okaloosa County has a current contract with the Advocacy Group to represent the County before the Florida Legislature and the Executive Branch of State government. This contract will expire on September 30, 2016. Staff requests to advertise a RFQ for State lobbyist services and create the selection committee to review the submittals. The suggested selection committee is: John Hofstad, County Administrator, Stephan Vaughn, Chief Correctional Officer, GinNeal McVay, Human Resources Director, Jeff Littrell, Water & Sewer Director, and a Commissioner, if desired. OPTIONS: Approve/Deny authorization to issue a RFQ for State lobbyist services and appoint the selection committee. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of authorization to issue a RFQ for State lobbyist services and appoint the selection committee. RECOMMENDED BY: APPROVED BY: John Hofstad, County Administrator
