STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Requests BCC approval of a renewal of the contract with Systems
Specialists for HVAC Monitoring and Controls for the No. & So. Fiber Hubs with an effective
start date of 10/01/2014.
BACKGROUND: The steps necessary to exercise the available extensions remaining on the
Systems Specialists HVAC Monitoring and Controls contract were not completed prior to the
September 30, 2014 expiration of the current term. This contract provides hosting for remote
monitoring and controls systems maintenance and necessary repair for county HVAC systems at
the No. & So. Fiber Hubs.
Internal communication and coordination efforts are improving so that a request to the Board for
an after-the-fact renewal of the contract for this service will not be necessary.
RECOMMENDATIONS: (FM) Requests BCC approval of a renewal of the contract with
Systems Specialists for HVAC Monitoring and Controls for the No. & So. Fiber Hubs with an
effective start date of 10/01/2014.
