BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: August 18, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Rick Owen SUBJECT: Extension of Contract C11-1856-CAO DEPARTMENT: County Administrator BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: A three month extension for contract C11-1856-CAO is needed to complete the competitive procurement process for the economic development activity of the Board as outlined in Chapter 125.045 F.S. BACKGROUND: On February 15, 2011, the Okaloosa Board of County Commissioners entered into a contract with the Economic Development Council for specialized marketing services that help support the quality of life and economic vitality of Okaloosa County. This contract was valid for one year with up to three additional one-year periods, with the final period expiring on September 30, 2015. Recognizing the EDC is in mid-negotiation of some and monitoring other economic objectives for Okaloosa County, it is necessary to extend the current contract in order to complete the competitive procurement process. An extension until December 31, 2015 is requested. OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove three month extension of the contract C11-1856-CAO. RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends the Board approve the request for a three month extention of the term of contract C11-1856-CAO. RECOMMENDED BY: APPROVED BY: John Hofstad, County Administrator
