BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: October 6, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Jason Autrey SUBJECT: Public Event Permit - Sons of Italy FESTA 5k run / walk DEPARTMENT: Public Works BCC DISTRICT: 4 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The local Sons of Italy Lodge is requesting a Public Event Permit to raise funds to support the Catholic Charities of Northwest Florida and Habitat for Humanity, Ft. Walton Beach. BACKGROUND: The event will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. A race route is attached. This request has been coordinated with Public Safety and the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office who will be providing assistance with traffic during the event. Their liability insurance certificate is due to be renewed September 30, 2015. OPTIONS: Approve / Disapprove RECOMMENDATIONS: Request Board approval for a Public Event Permit for the Sons of Italy FESTA 5k Run / Walk event as submitted by Chris Caravello, contingent upon receipt of an updated liability insurance certificate. RECOMMENDED BY: APPROVED BY: John Hofstad, County Administrator
