BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: October 6, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Jason Autrey SUBJECT: Public Event Permit - NWF Track Club 5K Race DEPARTMENT: Public Works BCC DISTRICT: 2 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Northwest Florida Track Club is requesting a Public Event Permit to raise funds for a rubberized track for Okaloosa County Middle and High School Track and Field programs. BACKGROUND: The event will be held Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The course will run from Dorado Avenue, west on Santa Rosa Blvd. to a turnaround before the Eglin gate, along Tarpon Dr., down Santa Rosa Blvd. to Caviar Dr. Loop and back to the starting point. On Santa Rosa Blvd. only the right lane of the westbound lanes will be used. A race route is attached. This request has been coordinated Emergency Services, the Okaloosa Island Fire Department and with the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office who will be providing assistance with traffic during the event. OPTIONS: Approve / Disapprove RECOMMENDATIONS: Request Board approval for a Public Event Permit for the Northwest Florida Track Club 5k Race event as submitted by Jeff Harris. RECOMMENDED BY: APPROVED BY: John Hofstad, County Administrator
