STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of the renewal and amendment to the contract
with West Florida Regional Planning Council (C05-1151-PW).
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: The County entered into a contract with the West Florida
Regional Planning Council (WFRPC) to provide small quantity hazardous waste notification and
verification preparation and support. Every year they survey 20% of the small businesses to
verify their status and determine if they are a small quantity waste generator. In addition, recent
legislative action requires that language regarding public records request be added to all
contracts that will be valid after July 1, 2016. Staff is incorporating the language as an
amendment to add the public records language to the contract and also requests authorization for
the Chairman to sign the document.
The contract with the WFRPC is within the signature authority of the Purchasing Manager. The
expiration of the contract was October 1, 2016. The vendor signed the contract prior to the
expiration, however, the document was not received in Purchasing until after the renewal date.
Staff requests Board authorization for the document to be retroactive to October 1, 2016 and the
Purchasing Manager to sign the document.
OPTIONS: Approve/Deny the renewal and Amendment to the contract with WFRPC to be
retroactive to October 1, 2016 and for the Purchasing Manager to sign the document.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the renewal and Amendment to the
contract with WFRPC to be retroactive to October 1, 2016 and for the Purchasing Manager to
sign the document.
