BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: April 7, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Sunil Harman SUBJECT: Task Order Number 4-Noise Wall-DTS DEPARTMENT: Airport BCC DISTRICT: ALL STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Board of County Commissioners is requested to approve Task Order No. 4 with Michael Baker, Jr. Inc., for Design, Bidding, Construction Administration and Inspection Services for the Noise Wall at Destin Executive Airport in the amount of $88,160. Services provided are in accordance with the agreement for professional services (contract #C15-2250-AP) for architectural, engineering and aviation planning. BACKGROUND: On February 24, 2015, the Airport Compatibility Advisory Committee deliberated and voted to recommend this project to the Board. On March 18, 2015, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) reviewed and approved Task Order No. 4. This task order provides for the design, bidding and construction phase services for an approximately 300’ x 22’ noise wall at the Destin Executive Airport. The wall will be near the south property line beginning at the Destin Jet entrance sign and ending at the SE corner of the Destin Jet hangar. The project estimated to cost $280,000 will be funded through an approved SJPA from FDOT in this Board agenda packet for acceptance as follows: 80% FDOT, 20% local match through increased revenues from the FBO. OPTIONS: Approve, Reject or Table RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners Approve Task Order No. 4 with Michael Baker, Jr., Inc. for Design, Bidding and Construction Management and Inspection Services for the Construction of a Noise Wall at Destin Executive Airport (DTS).
