In addition to the minimum and maximum dry film requirements (See Appendix, Table 1), all sags, runs, pinholes, craters, roller nap, and other irregularities which would be detrimental to the life or appearance of the coating(s) shall be removed and repaired at no additional cost to the OWNER. Finish coats shall be uniform in color, hide and sheen (gloss) without streaks, laps, runs, drips, sags or missed areas. B. Painting Environment 1. Repair & Paint All temperature and humidity requirements of the paint manufacturer's published product data shall be followed. In addition, no painting shall be done when the relative humidity is greater than 80%, or the temperature of the steel is or is expected to be less than 5 degrees F above the dew point temperature during application and until the coating has cured to resist moisture in accordance with the manufacturer's published product data. The CONTRACTOR shall have wet bulb-dry bulb measuring equipment and steel temperature measuring equipment on the job at all times. Readings shall be recorded at the beginning and end of each painting session and at no less than two (2) hour intervals. Wind velocities during exterior painting shall be compatible for the quality application of the exterior coatings. Measurements shall be recorded on the Daily Coatings Report. Minimum Temperature a. Each component shall be maintained at a minimum of 75 degrees F prior to mixing. b. The mixed coatings shall also be maintained at a minimum of 65 degrees F during application. c. All costs associated with keeping the coating material at the minimum specified temperature shall be included in the Base Bid. Mixing of Coatings a. Each component shall be thoroughly mixed on-site with a power agitator in accordance with the manufacturer’s printed instructions to ensure no pigment remains on the bottom of the container. b.
