SUBJECT: Contract Renewal - Concrete Materials

Statement of Issue: Request approval of the contract renewal with Fort Walton Beach
Concrete/Crestview Ready Mix for the next year. The contract’s effective date is October 1,
2013.
Background: Public Works has a budget line item approved to provide funds for concrete
materials. This contract reflects increases in units costs versus the previous years' contract as per
the attached fee schedule. These increased costs are due to the increased cost of cement
according to the vendor and do not follow the CPI accordingly. There were no other responsive
vendors at the last bidding of this contract. This contract renews contract number #C14-2105-
PW.
Options: Approve/disapprove
Recommendations: Staff requests Board approval for the contract renewal with Fort Walton
Beach Concrete/Crestview Ready Mix and authorization for the Chairman to sign the contract
renewal.
