AGENDA REQUEST
DATE: August 5, 2014

collection and disposal so as to have contracts in place by March 2016 when the existing
contracts expire. In 2013 the Board gave formal notice of its intent to franchise commercial
waste collection and disposal as required by state statute.
The requested work under Task Order #5 shown in the attached Procurement Scope includes:
-Development of a Procurement Strategy
-Service Procurement
-Service Transition (as needed)
-Additional Technical Services such as ordinance revisions, education,
interlocals, etc.
Since the work under this task order extends into FY 2016, beyond the term (Sep 30, 2015) of
the current contract, C10-1781-PW, staff is requesting that the Board grant a contract extension
through Sep 30, 2016 to cover all activities related to the proposed Task Order.
OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove
