STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of Amendment No. 2 to B&C Fire Safety, Inc.

BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: On January 8, 2015, the Board approved the contract with
B&C Fire Safety, Inc. for repair, inspection and service of fire extinguishers, fire alarms, fire
pump and sprinkler systems for the Airports and Facility Maintenance. Facility Maintenance
staff has been working closely with B&C Fire Safety to further clarify and identify all buildings
and locations which require fire safety infrastructure coverage. This review has determined that
two additional buildings/locations need to be added to the contract as well as pricing clarification
and itemization. The required modifications to the contract are documented in Amendment No.
2. Staff requests that the amendments be retroactive to the beginning date of the contract to
cover any billing that has been submitted for those items that were not previously included but
which have been further identified and verified by staff. Staff requests Board approval of
Amendment No. 2 to contract C15-2258-FM and asks that the Chairman be authorized to sign
the document.
OPTIONS: Approve/Deny Amendment No. 2 to the B&C Fire Safety, Inc. contract with a
retroactive date to January 8, 2015 (C15-2258-FM) and that the Chairman be authorized to sign
the document.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of Amendment No. 2 to the B&C Fire
Safety, Inc. Contract with a retroactive date to January 8, 2015 (C15-2258-FM) and that the
