STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of the contract with Warren Averett for
professional auditing services.
BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: On May 17, 2016 the Board approved staff to begin contract
negotiation with Warren Averett for professional auditing services. The contract is complete and
is ready for the Chairman’s signature. Staff requests Board approval of the contract and
authorization for the Chairman to sign the document.
The intent of the contract is to engage a firm of certified public accountants to audit three (3)
years of financial statements commencing with the fiscal year ending September 30, 2016 and
including fiscal year ending September 30, 2017, and ending with the fiscal year ending
September 30, 2018. The proposed contract will also include an option to renew for three (3)
one-year terms beyond the initial three (3) years. The cost for the initial year of the proposed
contract is $226,380.
OPTIONS: Approve/Deny the contract with Warren Averett for professional auditing services
and authorize the Chairman to sign the contract.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the contract with Warren Averett for
professional auditing services and authorize the Chairman to sign the contract.
