BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: March 1, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Zan Fedorak SUBJECT: Request approval to remove an Air Source CART from the fixed asset list for donation DEPARTMENT: Purchasing BCC DISTRICT: 2 STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval to remove an Air Source Continuous Air Resource Transport (CART) from the fixed asset list for donation to the Shalimar Fire Department. BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: Per Section 7, 2(I) of the Tangible Personal Property, Commodity Inventory & Accountability Manual (Property Manual) the County Administrator may approve the donation of a fixed asset and provide notification to the Board. The County Administrator has approved for an Air Source CART (Fixed Asset No. 99Z8588) to be donated to the Shalimar Fire Department. The Water & Sewer Department currently maintains this item on the fixed asset list but it has previously been noted as “loaned” to the Okaloosa County Rescue at the Shalimar Fire Department. The Air Source CART system is a compact mobile portable air source unit designed to provide a surface air system for rescue firefighters who are operating in a contaminated atmosphere. The system was originally purchased to equip fire departments in the event of a chlorine leak. Based on the County Administrator’s donation approval, staff is notifying the Board and requesting approval to remove the item from the fixed asset list. OPTIONS: Approve/Deny removal of asset number 99Z8588 (Air Source CART) from the fixed asset list for donation to the Shalimar Fire Department. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of removal of asset number 99Z8588 (Air Source CART) from the fixed asset list for donation to the Shalimar Fire Department upon execution of a Asset Transfer Agreement.
