BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: August 18, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Jason Autrey SUBJECT: Hazardous Waste Disposal (PW) DEPARTMENT: Public Works BCC DISTRICT: ALL STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Household Hazardous Waste section is in receipt of a pricing addendum from EQ-The Environmental Quality Company for materials not covered in contract #C14-2099-PW or subsequent addendums. This addendum will address the costs associated with the disposal of a material received that was not part of the current contract, as amended. BACKGROUND: Okaloosa County awarded a contract to EQ in October 2013 after a competitive bid process to collect, transport, and dispose of hazardous waste collected from residential and small business customers. The bid documents included pricing for routine materials collected. However, there is an exhaustive list of materials that are subject to be dropped off at mobile collection events and at our permanent facility that cannot be priced out in advance. When we encounter new items we require the vendor to submit an addendum request to cover additional pricing. OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove RECOMMENDATIONS: Request that the Board of County Commissioners authorize the Chairman to execute Addendum #5 to Contract C14-2099-PW.
