Economic Development Council
of Okaloosa County, Florida
December 10, 2014
Larry Patrick
Chairman
Okaloosa Planning Commission
Dear Mr. Patrick:
The Economic Development Council of Okaloosa County (EDC) stands in strong support of the
efforts of St. Regis Paper and its partners to effectively position portions of Shoal River Ranch
(owned by the Holland M. Ware Charitable Trust) for future economic development
opportunities.
As you know, sites offering significant size and scale, multi-modal transportation advantages
and ready access to skilled labor are in short supply. However, sites offering these features are
highly valued by new employers and in great demand. Further, as we continue to experience
an improving local, state and national economy, the EDC has every confidence that the
proposed development plan for Shoal River Ranch will bear significant fruit in the form of new,
high wage jobs and investment.
Sincerely,
L e Apak
